NAGA SADHUS-- are the perfect example of renunciation.They represent human beings in purity & worship LORD SHIVA.NAGA SADHUS appear in public only during the Kumbh mela.
The order of NAGA SADHUS was founded by Dattatreya.As they belong to the Shaiva sect,they have matted locks of hair &their bodies are covered in ashes.
The NAGA SADHUS never bother about the materialistic world.The NAG BABAS are a warrior class & are divided like a regiment in an army.
The trident,sword,sticts,conch shells & other weapons they carry symbolises their warrior status.They smoke a marijuana pipe,known as a CHILLUM.The place where they live is called "AKHARAS"..
